Maths
Mathematics is all round us and we use it in our everyday lives - often without thinking: At Four Oaks Primary we equip children with a full range of knowledge and skills to enable them to understand the world around them. |

In Reception teachers follow the Early Learning Goals of the Foundation Curriculum. In Key Stage One and Two Mathematics is taught every day and we teach Number, Measure, Geometry, Statistics and Algebra, alongside problem solving, in line with the National Curriculum.

Teachers use a range of practical equipment, visual images, computer programs and drawings as much as possible to enable children to experience the maths they are learning. We teach a wide variety of mental and written strategies, eventually encouraging the children to independently determine the best strategy to solve problems.
