High Temperatures22 June 2026 (by admin) |
Some information to keep parents up to date!
To keep all parents in the loop in what is predicted to be a very warm week weather wise, the children and staff have coped very well in relation to the warm weather today in our new building.
Even though this building is much cooler than our old building, we are still following all of the advice from the Local Authority on how to best cope with the unusual temperatures, so here are some pointers for the next few days:
- I was amazed at lunchtime today at how many children did not have a sunhat with them, so I have been round to every classroom and have said that all children MUST bring a hat to school for the rest of the week.
- Children have also been told that they need to bring their water bottle to school if they have one, and to not bring sweatshirts, cardigans or coats with them.
- Tennis for Year 2 is going to be postponed this week, and we will endeavour to get the tennis club to offer an extra session.
- PE lessons this week will not be outside during the next three days. Classes will work together to try to share hall times.
- ALL CHILDREN are allowed to come to school in their PE kits this week whilst the temperatures are high so that they can remain as cool as possible.
- Please administer sun cream to your child before they come to school so that they are protected during the brief breaks they will get out in the fresh air. (Staff are not permitted to apply suncream to children).
If the advice from the Local Authority changes as the week progresses, then we will obviously let all parents know of any changes straight away!
Thank you to all parents in supporting us to keep the children comfortable!
