Through Physical Education it is our intent to teach children life skills that will positively impact on their future. We believe that physical development provides an essential foundation for the growth of the whole child by developing confidence, resilience and knowledge. Pupils are encouraged to aim high, be creative, develop their leadership skills and solve problems.

Through all physical opportunities, we strive to embed life-long values to support not only our pupils’ academic learning, but also their mental and physical well-being, whilst instilling a life-long love of being physically active.

We aim to deliver two hours of a high-quality PE Curriculum that is fully inclusive and inspires all children to reach their personal best. Our progressive, broad and balanced PE curriculum allows all children to grow in competence and confidence with a range of sporting skills. By the time the children leave Four Oaks, they will have had the opportunity to develop the skills involved in dance, gymnastics, athletics, netball, football, hockey, tag rugby, basketball, cricket, tennis, OAA, Muay Thai and swimming.

We have a strong sporting ethos in our school with many children taking part in a range of extra-curricular sporting sessions run by staff, outside agencies and coaches. Our children also enjoy participating in a range of competitions against other schools, often achieving success which is celebrated during our assemblies. Our whole-school appreciation of school sport provides all children with a sense of belonging and allows them to witness the power of sport in bringing a community together.
