Fire Safety at Four Oaks
Last week the importance of fire safety was top of the bill at Four Oaks Primary School. The Year Five pupils were all smiles when “ White Watch “ from Sutton Coldfield Fire station arrived to work with them and talk about fire safety in the home.
The children split up into groups and completed activities based upon spotting potential fire hazards in and around their homes, as well as looking at the important role that smoke alarms can play in keeping everyone safe and sound at home. The Year 5 teachers said “ We see this type of activity as a really important part of the Creative Curriculum here at Four Oaks and a life lesson that will serve the pupils well in the future.”
Having gone through the vitally important sequence of how to call for emergency assistance in case of a fire, the pupils had a close up look at White Watch’s fire engine and all the equipment the fire fighters have to use, before they left to the calls of “ Stay Safe ! ”
