Y5 at Hill Hook

  Nature Reserve 2010

On Wednesday Year 5 went to Hill Hook Nature Reserve. I really liked it because there was a wide variety of wildlife such as : dragonflies; geese; swans and ducklings. We investigated which parts were man-made and which parts are naturally occuring. We found out that the stream called Bourne Brook is natural. We also measured how fast the river flowed and how deep it was in different parts. When we had lunch we were allowed to go in the stream. Also I enjoyed running through the extremely long grass ! Another thing that I really liked was that the willow trees hung down really low, so you could swing on them. The day was fantastic at Hill Hook because it was exciting and the wildlife was amazing.

P.S. Thank you to the teachers for organising the day !
