World War 2 Baking
Ever wondered what food was like during World War II ?
Well Year 6 certainly did! Whilst looking at the period of rationing, we decided to see what it would have been like to make and eat bread during
World War II.
We made the "National Loaf" which consisted of flour, salt, water and yeast. We kneaded the bread as well as mixing it all together! The finished product left mixed reviews, however we definitely have more of an appreciation for the difficulties World War 2 cooks had !
